Welcome to my science class blog. This is where I plan on posting my start-ups and my agenda each day. I will post any due dates here as well. I try to allow for experience based learning in my class through hands-on labs as often as possible. Every now and again I will post a few things here that I may need for my labs. If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. For example, I will be doing a few labs in the upcoming days that need old CDs, baby food jars, old incandescent light bulbs even if they are burnt out, and metal clothes hangers. If you have these things laying around I could use them! Thanks in advance.
I will also post the start ups in this blog so they will be archived. Usually there will be an answer associated with the question but I will not post that. Instead I would like for the student to look it up on the Internet if he doesn't know the answer. If you want I would encourage you to post and answer as a comment to this blog. I will review it and post it when I check my email. About twice a nine weeks I will take a grade on the start ups so it is important to make sure these are kept. The same day I take a grade on the start up I will also collect classwork that has been completed but not taken up thus far. At this point their science notebook should be cleaned out. After I have a grade for the start ups and the notebook everything can be recycled and we begin collecting work anew. I will not take a grade on this work again so it wont be needed at a later date.
I'm sure there is more to be said but right now I can't think of anything pressing so...
