Mixtures Lab

Yesterday we looked at how a marshmallow can store energy.  The chemical energy can be converted as the marshmallow burns.  Today we are going to be looking at the different types of mixtures.  The mixtures lab deals with physical and chemical properties of birdseed, sand, salt, and iron filings.  The students are asked to devise a plan for separating the four elements.

The start up is "what is the difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures?"
